Training for MHP operators of Bhutan Power Company

The ASEAN Hydropower Competence Centre (HYCOM) conducted the training on operation and maintenance of mini-hydropower (MHP) on 23-25th July 2013. 12 participants from Bhutan Power Company participated in the training. Strategy of MHP operation and maintenance were discussed as a part of the training as well as good and bad practices in MHP. The training consisted of the hydro lab session and field trips. The Bhutanese participants had a chance to visit two hydro turbine manufacturers in Bandung and two MHP plants near Bandung. One Power plant of 3MW is in operation since 90 years due to good design and maintenance. The other power plant of 250kW is entirely constructed with Indonesian based engineering and manufacturing and is supplying a village and a tea factory since 12 Years with energy in stand alone operation.
